Applewood Smoked Sea Salt
Filed under Spice Education, Our World

Share |

Applewood Smoked Sea Salt is one among many Sea Salts that are gaining in popularity with both professional chefs and home cooks. Sea Salts are becoming regarded as an important ingredient that can define and distinguish the character of a specific dish. Some Sea Salts are used during the cooking process and some are used as finishing salts and some can be used both ways.

Applewood  Smoked Sea  Salt  is a gourmet Sea Salt from the Pacific Ocean that is smoked slowly over  real  Applewood from the Yakima Valley in the state of Washington. This natural process results in a true smoked flavor that combines the fruit like taste of the Applewood with the salt. Applewood Smoked Sea Salt has a milder flavor than the more commonly known Hickory Smoked Sea Salt.

Applewood Smoked Sea Salt works well with fish, chicken, lamb, pork, ham and bacon. It is used during cooking and also as a finishing salt. It is especially popular to use when grilling.
