On the first day of Fall, we want to highlight Spices that will be used a lot in the coming months. While all of these Spices are certainly not restricted to Fall cooking & baking, they are particularly appropriate at this time of year!

Cinnamon is one of the most popular, beloved Spices used by home cooks & professional chefs alike. It is a must have for every kitchen. Whether you prefer Ceylon Cinnamon, Cinnamon Korintje, Saigon Vietnamese Cinnamon or China Tung Sing Cassia make sure to use this Spice for all of your favorite fall baked creations. Cinnamon Sticks are a delightful addition to beverages, wine, candies, desserts or as stir sticks. They are a source of a pleasant aroma for your home!

Ginger is sometimes thought of as a Christmas Spice but it is never too soon to start incorporating it in all of your seasonal baking. Ginger is not limited to sweets. Be sure to use it for drinks, fruits, vegetables and to add a savory note to meat dishes! You can work with Ginger Ground, Ginger Whole or Ginger Cracked Pieces.

Cloves are very warm, powerful & sweet. They are available in both ground & whole form. Cloves work well for sweet & savory applications like desserts, ham and vegetable dishes.

Nutmeg is strong, warm, nutty & sweet. Nutmeg is available in ground or whole form. It is used in breads, cakes, cookies and pies. It is also used in sauces, stews, cheese, sausages and vegetables.

Allspice is a natural must have for the Fall. It is not a blend of Spices as some mistakenly believe but rather a berry. It is available in whole or ground form. It is easy to think it is several Spices because it is reminiscent of Cinnamon, Cloves & Nutmeg! Allspice is perfect for baking and it is also wonderful in Carribbean dishes and certain Curry Powders.

Pumpkin Powder is fresh and sweet with an authentic pumpkin taste. Pumpkin Powder is a convenient substitute for fresh pumpkin; use it in breads, pies, soups, cakes, cookies, yogurt and sauces.

Pumpkin Pie Spice is a spice blend of Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger & Cloves. It is warm, sweet and pleasant. This spice blend is traditionally used for pumpkin pies, cakes, breads, cookies, fruit & desserts. Add a sprinkle of Pumpkin Pie Spice to your morning cup of coffee!

Apple Pie Spice is a spice blend of Cinnamon, Cloves, Allspice & Nutmeg. Apple Pie Spice really reminds us of all things Fall! It is wonderful in apple pies, cookies, coffee cake, french toast, waffle batter, pancake batter, fruit & desserts.

Vanilla Beans are a treasure all year long!  During the Fall, Vanilla Beans are a welcome ingredient in cakes, ice cream, pudding, cookies, fruit, desserts and custards.

We hope we have inspired you to start the new season.Tell us about your favorite Fall Spices!
