Turkey Burgers with Indian Spices

Exotic spices and flavors from the Far East take ordinary turkey burgers to a whole new realm.  Satisfying, tasty, low fat and healthy, these burgers will become a family staple.

Black Pepper Ground 28 Mesh, Cardamom Ground, Cinnamon Korintje Powder Grade A, Cumin Ground

1 1/2 - 1 3/4 pounds ground turkey
2 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
1 teaspoon lemon or lime peel zest
1 teaspoon cumin ground
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 teaspoon cinnamon korintje powder grade a
1/2 teaspoon cardamom ground
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 lime, quartered

Place the turkey, garlic, ginger, lime zest, cumin, pepper, cinnamon and cardamom in a bowl and mix gently to combine.  Divide the mixture into 4 patties.

Sprinkle the patties with the salt.  Place a large skillet over medium high heat and when it is very hot, add the burgers, making sure to let the skillet reheat between additions.  Cook until deeply browned, about 3 - 5 minutes on each side.  Serve immediately, garnished with lime quarters.
