Chicken Chow Mein Recipe
An oriental mix combines ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon with spicy red pepper. Filled with flavor, this delicious, classic dish will quickly become a favorite.
Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, Chinese Five Spice Powder, Ginger Ground
Cook the noodles in a pan of boiling water according to directions for 2 minutes. Drain them and rinse them under cool water. Toss with a one Tablespoon peanut oil and set aside.
Slice the chicken into strips and place in a medium bowl. Add two Tablespoons soy sauce, five-spice powder, chili powder and cornstarch. Toss until the strips are covered.
Toast the sesame seeds in a small saucepan for 3 minutes, set aside.
Heat the remaining peanut oil in a large pot or wok. Add chicken and stir fry for 3-4 minutes. Add the ground ginger, bean sprouts, sesame seeds and green onions, stir fry for an additional 30 seconds.
Toss in the cooked noodles and add the remaining soy sauce. Stir well and serve hot.
