I have been happy with every purchase I have made here except this one was a little off. I ordered hickory smoked sea salt and two of the bags were so course that they have to be put into a grinder to use. I really don't mind using the grinder but it is not what I ordered. Besides that as always everything tasted great and will last me for a long time.
I make my own lox and I have found the best mixture is one part hickory smoked sea salt, two parts pink Haawain salt, one part granulated brown sugar and a solid sprinkle of dill. Pack FRESH skinless salmon in a thick crust, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and place in a pie plate. Add another plate on top and weight it down. After two days rinse and enjoy!
