Below are three photos to give you an idea of how much product you will receive in each size package. We filled up each size bag with marbles and placed them next to a quarter to provide a clear representation. There are two different photos, one for standard spices/seasonings and one for herbs. Since many herbs are so leafy the same weight will fill up a much larger bag. This is why some of the herb prices seem a lot higher than the spice prices, but you are actually receiving more product.

The third image is of our 1 cup Bottle with Sifter next to a popular national brand found in most grocery stores. You can see that our bottle holds close to 2.5 times more product than the national brand bottle. Plus, ours often costs less! Please be aware some other online retailers only offer 1/2 cup(4 fluid ounces) bottles. We choose to offer double the size 1 cup (8 fluid ounces) bottles to give you the biggest bang for your buck!

We hope you can see from these images that regardless of which size you order, you are getting a lot of product and a very good value compared to the supermarket.

Aebleskiver Recipe

Æbleskiver, meaning apple slices in Danish, are small puffy pancakes that are traditionally filled with…apples! While a wide variety of flavored jams are used today for filling these puffy breakfast treats, we chose to coat the tried and true apple with freshly grated nutmeg and lemon juice for extra flavor. in addition, maple sugar makes an excellent sweetener for the batter.

  • Prep Time:20 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon

butter or cultured european style vegan butter

  • 1

apple, peeled, cored and cut into ½ inch chunks

  • 1 tablespoon

    lemon juice

  • 1/4 teaspoon

    freshly grated nutmeg

  • 1 cup (130 grams)

    all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon

    baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon

    salt

  • 1 teaspoon

    maple sugar

  • 3/4 cup (180 ml)

    milk or non-dairy milk

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml)

plain, unsweetened dairy or non-dairy yogurt

  • 1/8 teaspoon

    vanilla powder

  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing pan

Directions

In small bowl, toss apple chunks with lemon juice to coat. Melt butter over medium high heat in skillet, add apple and sauté until softened but still firm. Remove from heat and toss with nutmeg.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and maple sugar until combined. Whisk milk, yogurt and vanilla powder until combined and slowly mix into flour mixture to form a smooth batter with a few small lumps leftover.

Heat æbleskiver pan over medium high heat and grease with cooking spray or butter. Using a regular teaspoon eating utensil, drop a small amount of batter into each greased slot. Push an apple chunk into each slot and cover with more batter until level with top of pan.

Once tops of æbleskiver have dried around edges and centers are still slightly wet, using a regular teaspoon eating utensil, slowly flip each pancake over and allow to bake on undersides until golden.

Serve with favorite pancake condiments!
