Spelt Flour

Also Known as: Ground Spelt

Origin: USA

Ingredients: Spelt Flour

Taste and Aroma: Nutty, sweet and pleasant. 

Uses: Use in bread, cookies, cake, pasta and pastries.  Often used as a substitute for wheat.

Substitutes: Semolina Flour, All Purpose Flour, Buckwheat Flour, Tapioca Starch, Whole Oat Flour, Almond Flour, Soy Flour Defatted, Potato Starch, Arrowroot Powder, Xanthan Gum and Clear Jel Instant.

Fun Fact: Spelt Flour is often preferred to traditional wheat flour because it easier to digest, lower in calories, higher in protein and a great alternative for people with wheat allergies.
