Spiced Pork Burgers

Using pork instead of ground beef gives these burgers an unexpected depth of flavor that is intensified by the addition of aromatic herbs and spices.  Accent the flavor with mustard and/or barbecue sauce; serve with roasted potatoes for a wonderful dinner.

Cayenne Pepper, Cumin Ground, Garlic Powder Granulated, Oregano Greek, Saigon Vietnamese Cinnamon Ground, Thyme Ground

1 1/2 - 1 3/4 pounds ground pork
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano greek
1 1/2 teaspoons thyme ground
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon cumin ground
1/8 teaspoon saigon vietnamese cinnamon ground

Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and combine well with a fork or with your hands.  Divide into 4 patties.

Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and when it is hot, add the oil.  Add the patties, waiting about 30 seconds for the skillet to reheat after each addition.  Cook until deeply browned and cooked throughout, about 5 - 6 minutes on each side.  Serve immediately.
