Split Peas Yellow

Also Known as: Pisum Sativum or Matar Ki Daal 

Origin: India 

Ingredients: Dried Yellow Split Peas 

Taste and Aroma: Sweet, earthy and pleasant. 

Uses: The back bone of traditional Split Pea soup.  Also use in falafel, stew, sambar, dhal and pudding. 

Substitutes: Split Peas Green, Dried Vegetable Mix, Carrots Diced, Red Bell Peppers Dried and Spinach Flakes.

Fun Fact: Split Peas are small but powerful, packing a significant amount of protein.
