Taste and Aroma: On its own, Mastic Gum is slightly bitter with cedar, woody undertones.
Uses: Traditionally used in making chewing gum, but also used in ice cream, sauces, seasonings, preserves, jams and smoked meats. Mastic gum is also used to make Turkish delights, pudding and other desserts like pastries and cakes.

Fun Fact: Mastic Gum has always been a sacred ingredient; during the Ottoman rule of Chios (the Greek island where the gum is grown) stealing the gum was punishable by death, ordered by the sultan.
