Pani Puri Masala
Also Known As: Pani Poori Masala or Gol Gappa Masala
Ingredients: Salt White, Salt Black, Dry Mango, Tamarind, Cumin, Malic Acid, Mint Leaves, Black Pepper, Musk Melon, Dry Ginger, Caraway, Chili, Cloves and Asafoetida Powder
Taste and Aroma: Sweet, tart, powerful, warm and minty.
Uses: The seasoning base for the extremely popular Indian bite sized snack Gol Gappa, Pani Puri is also great on: Bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and vegetables.
Substitutes:Bombay Biryani Masala, Goda Masala and Chana Masala.
Fun Fact: Pani Puri translated means water in fried bread. These crispy bite sized snacks sold on the streets of India are meant to be consumed in one mouthfull, both so the inner liquid does not get on your clothes and so you fully experience the delightful explosion of flavor!
