Below are three photos to give you an idea of how much product you will receive in each size package. We filled up each size bag with marbles and placed them next to a quarter to provide a clear representation. There are two different photos, one for standard spices/seasonings and one for herbs. Since many herbs are so leafy the same weight will fill up a much larger bag. This is why some of the herb prices seem a lot higher than the spice prices, but you are actually receiving more product.

The third image is of our 1 cup Bottle with Sifter next to a popular national brand found in most grocery stores. You can see that our bottle holds close to 2.5 times more product than the national brand bottle. Plus, ours often costs less! Please be aware some other online retailers only offer 1/2 cup(4 fluid ounces) bottles. We choose to offer double the size 1 cup (8 fluid ounces) bottles to give you the biggest bang for your buck!

We hope you can see from these images that regardless of which size you order, you are getting a lot of product and a very good value compared to the supermarket.

Hot Chicken Wings with Bhut Jolokia Sauce

While the Bhut Jolokia Pepper is the hottest pepper on record, it is unusual in that the heat is really only felt in the back of the mouth. This recipe adds a nice sweetness to cut through the spice, and could be considered a nice Mild/Medium Hot Wing. It also has an unusual flavor of it’s own – quite different from your average chili powder. If you prefer to have a hotter Wing, increase the Bhut Jolokia amount.

  • Yield:4

  • Level of Difficulty:Easy

  • Cook Time:1 Hours

  • Prep Time:15 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons

    Light Brown Sugar

  • 6 tablespoons

    Salted Butter

  • 1/2 cup

    Ketchup

  • 1/2 teaspoon

    Bhut Jolokia Pepper Powder

  • 1 cup

    Peach Preserves

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/4 cup

    Bourbon

Directions

Slowly boil all ingredients EXCEPT for Bourbon over medium low heat until dissolved and well mixed, about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.

**Note – do not handle Bhut Jolokia with bare hands or allow it to get in your eyes or come in contact with your skin. It is VERY hot. **

Add Bourbon and reduce heat to low. Allow to simmer an hour or longer, so that sauce thickens. If a thicker sauce is desired, add corn starch as needed, being sure to combine thoroughly.

Apply sauce to fried or grilled wings. Unused sauce can be kept refrigerated for 2 weeks.
