Below are three photos to give you an idea of how much product you will receive in each size package. We filled up each size bag with marbles and placed them next to a quarter to provide a clear representation. There are two different photos, one for standard spices/seasonings and one for herbs. Since many herbs are so leafy the same weight will fill up a much larger bag. This is why some of the herb prices seem a lot higher than the spice prices, but you are actually receiving more product.

The third image is of our 1 cup Bottle with Sifter next to a popular national brand found in most grocery stores. You can see that our bottle holds close to 2.5 times more product than the national brand bottle. Plus, ours often costs less! Please be aware some other online retailers only offer 1/2 cup(4 fluid ounces) bottles. We choose to offer double the size 1 cup (8 fluid ounces) bottles to give you the biggest bang for your buck!

We hope you can see from these images that regardless of which size you order, you are getting a lot of product and a very good value compared to the supermarket.

Sausage Appetizer Puffs Recipe

Sausage is flavored with spicy Fennel and sharp grated Parmesan in this heavy appetizer. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses; yellow or white cheddar would be delicious in this recipe too. Plan for about one puff per person. This recipe easily doubles or triples.

  • Yield:6

  • Level of Difficulty:Easy

  • Cook Time:30 Minutes

  • Prep Time:10 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 poud

    Ground sausage, browned

  • 1 sheet

    puff pastry, thawed

  • 1/3 cup

    grated Parmesan

  • 1 teaspoon

    fennel seeds

  • 1 egg + 1 Tablespoon milk

for egg wash (optional but pretty)

  • 1 can

    pizza sauce

Directions

Brown and drain the sausage. Stir together with the Parmesan and fennel seeds.

Pre-heat the oven to 400-degrees.

Smooth out the puff pastry, cut into three rectangles, following the creases. Spoon the sausage filling on to one of the sides of the pastry, leaving a half-an-inch of dough along the edge. Don’t worry about any leftover filling, it’s going in the dipping sauce.

Flip the pastry over onto itself, covering the filling. Use a fork to press down the edges on all four sides.

Combine the egg and milk and use a pastry brush to brush over the dough. Use the fork to prick the center of each puff to let the steam out.

Bake the puffs for 25-28 minutes on 400-degrees, until medium-golden. Cool for five minutes. Slice them down the middle.

Add the pizza sauce to the leftover filling, microwave on high for one minute. Serve immediately with the warm puffs.
