Origin: Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, 5500 â 7200 ft. above sea level. History Of Growing Region: Pedro, a subsection of Kenmare Estate in Nuwara Eliya, has been producing teas since 1885. Unlike many other tea-growing regions, the climate in Nuwara Eliya maintains a dry hot wind and an annual rainfall of 73 inches. The surrounding plants like Cypress trees, wild mint and eucalyptus lend their characteristics to the tea grown in the region.

Taste and Aroma: Classic Ceylon character of floral layers with notes of eucalyptus, citrus, velvety layers of honey and slight tones of cut grass, with tempting round body and fireside orange with golden notes.
Fun Fact: Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, had a thriving coffee beans production until 1869 when a fungal disease destroyed the crop. By 1900 almost all of the coffee planters switched to tea production.
