Taste and Aroma: Sweet, but not as sweet as sugar.
Uses: Dextrose Monohydrate is a healthier substitue for sugar, fructose and sucrose. Dextrose is also known to lessen baking time with faster rising and browning effects than similar ingredients. Given that Dextrose is less sweet, use about 2 times as much in recipes such as: Tea, coffee, shakes, brewing, wine, fruits, baking, cookies, brownies, cake, doughnuts and bread.
Substitutes:Maltodextrin, Stevia Powder Organic, Fructose, Corn Syrup Solids, Xylitol, Demerara Sugar, Honey Powder, Fermento or Golden Vanilla Cane Sugar.
Fun Fact: Dextrose is naturally occuring in the human body and when compared to fructose or complex sugars is more easily digestible.
