Dry Molasses
Ingredients: Molasses, Wheat Starch, Soy Flour, Calcium Stearate, Soy Lecithin
Taste and Aroma:Robust bittersweet flavor. Tastes just like the liquid molasses!
Uses:Bakery mixes, toppings, coatings, glazes, health foods, seasoning blends, dry mixes and sauces. Can be used as one to one replacement for liquid molasses in bakery mixes (add an additional one-half pound of water per pound of dried molasses when reconstituting).
Substitutes: maple sugar, other sugars
Fun Fact: A large molasses tank in the North End neighborhood of Boston burst on January 15, 1919, killing 21 people and injuring 150. Some say the neighborhood still smells like the sweet, sticky substance on hot summer days.
